About the author

Lucy Maud Montgomery (1874–1942) was a Canadian writer born on Prince Edward Island, best known for her novel Anne of Green Gables. From its publication, the book achieved immediate success and made Montgomery one of the most beloved authors of children's and young adult literature. Throughout her life, she published more than twenty novels, as well as short stories, always with a sensitive and imaginative style in which nature and everyday life take on a poetic force.
