About this ebook

Enjoy this FREE spicy new adult romance series starter by USA Today Bestselling dark romance author M.L. Philpitt...

Elena,

In order to protect you, I needed to lose you—to give you up. For years I’ve been tormented knowing another man is touching you, earning moans from you that should be mine, and knowing you love him for it. In order for this to work though, I must wait my turn.

But now I’m back, Dolly, and I’m coming for you. Remember the games we played in high school? We’re all grown up now, so this round will be on an entirely new level, and I hope you’re ready. I’ll steal your happiness, and then when you’re alone with nothing and no one, I’ll steal you. After all, it’s fair, don’t you think?

You think I’m the monster, when all I’ve ever done is defend you from the true villain. And this time is no different.

Ready? Set… Go.

Ruthlessly yours,

Ryker

I thought that this was an OK read. I'll freely admit that while I'm a huge dark romance fan, bully romances can be hit or miss with me. It wasn't a bad book, it just failed to wow me, and it left me a bit conflicted over a few things. As the blurb states, some content could be triggers for some readers. So, if that's an issue for you, please be aware. Personally, I totally agree with the "Grey" label. I did not feel like there was anything super dark here but there were quite a few murky grey areas. How you end up feeling about them will greatly depend on each individual reader. For myself, there was a couple that bugged me but only really one that I truly hated. Overall, I thought the writing was good and I found the story interesting. There were some plot points that I felt were far-fetched, but that could be just me. As for the characters themselves, again they were OK. I did really appreciate that Elena owned her desires and knew what she liked. That is a huge pet peeve for me and I'm thankful that in this book it wasn't an issue with this book. Ryker, I thought had a lot of potential, however, his reasons and actions did not always make a lot of sense to me. Each book in this series features its own couple but there is an ongoing, overarching storyline unfolding during this series. This means you need to read all these books and in order. I am electing to post a candid review.
