About this ebook

Strength lies in surrender.

When Alice leapt into power exchange games with her neighbors, she didn't plan to fall in love. She sure didn't expect she'd be the switch between Henry's commanding mastery and Jay's submissive playfulness. But now she's moving in with them, and she'd better figure it all out — fast.

Trouble is, she's never been a live-in girlfriend. The day after a traumatic first night at a BDSM club might not be the best time to start.

Struggling to find her place within the lifestyle, Alice seeks equality in a relationship built on surrender. Learning to lean on Henry challenges the foundation of her self-worth. He'll have to lean on her in return for their triad to find stability.

But can her stoic dominant lover accept her as a confidante as well as a submissive? And will their love be enough to silence Jay's emotional ghosts?

New to USA Today bestselling author M.Q. Barber’s Neighborly Affection series?

The Neighborly Affection series is appropriate for mature readers who love building trust and healing old wounds through deep conversations and plenty of spice as three people negotiate their happily ever after.

This friends-to-lovers bisexual menage romance saga is best read in order. Dominance and submission with a cozy vibe and spicy praise is the name of the game for this MMF poly triad.

Start with Playing the Game or the prequel book Becoming His Master. For a different perspective on the events of Playing the Game, read it alongside Tuesdays with Jay and Other Stories.

Praise for Healing the Wounds:

“I was thoroughly captivated by the characters.” — Romance Junkies

“The three lovers define the ups and downs of a polyamorous triad and leave the ending open for future adventures. … Barber frames a sexy, loving relationship that happens to be among three people. Libraries looking for more ménage works might consider purchasing all three [books in the series].” — Library Journal

“MQ Barber doesn’t write your typical erotic romance. I love ménage stories, but Barber is beginning to ruin me for other authors. Her characters show such depth and her relationships are so complex and rewarding that I’m beginning to hold others to her standard.” — You Gotta Read Reviews

“An intriguing, sexy look into the world of a threesome involved in BDSM.” — Fresh Fiction

It’s hard to write reviews for the books in this series. It’s hard because I want to sing their praises to EVERYONE! But I don’t want other authors getting ideas about throwing wrenches in perfectly good HEAs. This series has a special way of ending each book with a believable HEA where I know the characters have everything they need to continue building on what they have, but when M.Q. Barber makes that part of the story explicit, I’m so excited to get to keep reading the journey. This book was a powerful exploration of overcoming past traumas and building a relationship that is right for the people in the relationship. Not just romantic relationships, but the bridges we build to the people who are important to our partners. I love how each of these books makes Jay, Alice, and Henry’s relationship into an even stronger alloy.

About the author

M.Q. Barber likes to get lost in thought. She writes things down so she can find herself again. The USA Today bestselling author of contemporary erotic romance — often with poly, kinky, and queer elements — has a soft spot for romances that explore the inner workings of the heart and mind alongside all that steamy physical exertion. She loves memorable characters, witty banter, and heartfelt emotion in any genre. Dear reader, beware: She’s also been known to cuss and use big words.
