About the author

Dr Madhu Vij is a former Senior Professor of Finance at the Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi, with over four decades of experience in teaching and research. She is recognised for her expertise in International Finance, Risk Management, Banking and Financial Services, Corporate Finance, and Accounting.

Dr Vij currently serves on the Governing Body of Shri Ram College of Commerce, University of Delhi, and represents the Trust at Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management, Dwarka. She is also the Chair of the Academic Council and President of the Global Risk Management Institute in Gurugram. Her previous roles include serving as a Government Nominee at the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (2019–2023) and holding Independent Directorships in four public limited companies; she continues to serve in this capacity for one public limited company. Additionally, Dr Vij was a Non-Executive Independent Director of MOIL Limited, a Mini Ratna PSU, from 2010 to 2013. She has also been a member of the Board of Governors at the Arun Jaitley National Institute of Financial Management (NIFM) and the Academic Advisory Body of the Indian Institute of Management, Sirmaur.

A recipient of the Alumni Excellence Award from Shri Ram College of Commerce, University of Delhi, Dr. Vij attended the Global Colloquium on Participant-centered Learning at Harvard Business School, Boston. She served on the Panel of Judges for the Prime Minister's Trophy, selecting the best steel plant (2011–2013), and contributed as a member of the Ad-Hoc Task Force for the Results Framework Document (2011–2013).

Dr Vij's research, consultancy, and training activities focus on Risk Management, Project Management, Strategic Financial Management, Case-based Learning and Teaching, and Finance for Non-Finance Managers. She has presented research papers at national and international conferences, serves on the editorial boards of various journals, and actively reviews for several academic publications and conferences. Her research interests encompass credit ratings and financial crises, enterprise risk management, corporate sustainability, country risk analysis, foreign exchange risk management, treasury management, corporate valuation, asset-liability management, and corporate governance. Over the years, she has led multiple projects sponsored by organisations such as the UGC, RBI, ICSSR, SAIL, and the University of Delhi.

Dr Vij's publications include numerous papers in reputable academic journals as well as books on International Financial Management and Corporate Finance for MBA participants at NIIT (USA). She has co-authored "Merchant Banking and Financial Services" and "Women's Studies in India: A Journey of 25 Years."

Beyond her finance expertise, Dr Vij served as the Director of the Women's Studies and Development Centre at the University of Delhi (2012–2013). She remains actively involved in gender studies, having delivered special talks and led a project on microfinance and gender.

Dr Deepika Dhingra is an accomplished academician and industry professional with over 17 years of experience in finance, management education, and applied research. A PhD holder from the Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) at the University of Delhi, she also holds an MBA in Finance from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. Currently an Associate Professor and Area Chair at BML Munjal University, Dr. Dhingra collaborates with leading academic and professional institutions.

Her scholarly work seamlessly connects theory with real-world applications, focusing on financial modelling, time-series analysis, ESG practices, fintech, and business sustainability. She has published extensively in top-tier ABDC-ranked and Scopus-indexed journals. She has presented her research at international conferences hosted by notable institutions, including the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs), the Indian School of Business (ISB), and BITS Pilani.

A passionate case writer, Dr Dhingra has authored multiple real-world case studies distributed globally through Ivey Publishing and The Case Centre. She has also contributed chapters to books published by Springer, Routledge, and IGI Global, examining topics like digital transformation, financial innovation, and corporate strategy.

Beyond her academic pursuits, Dr Dhingra has consulted with organisations across India and the UK, designing curricula and training programs for public sector undertakings and multinational tech firms. This hands-on experience enables her to address current financial challenges while ensuring practical learning outcomes.
