Bis 2011 war er Inhaber des Lehrstuhls für Betriebswirtschaftslehre, Organisation und Personalwirtschaft an der Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg. Er ist Autor zahlreicher Bücher und Veröffentlichungen zur Personalentwicklung.
