About this ebook

Thieves aren’t known for doing other people favors, but a unicorn is a treasure of a whole different color. Winter was on her way out of town anyway, so what’s a little baggage? Never mind that fleeing Anton with a barely weaned unicorn could get her killed or thrown in prison if she gets caught.

Winter is a skilled thief. It should have been an easy job. She wasn’t counting on a dragon with postpartum depression, the dragon’s unhatched egg or the injured wizard with a shakier past than her own.

The plan was to depart town for greener pastures and easier purses to snatch. Too bad leaving requires pulling off the biggest heist of all.

Maria Schneider had me with the first sentence. This delightful book starts with a proverb about a thief needing to forgo friendship. It then goes on to chronical true friendship among an unlikely crowd engaged on an unselfish mission. Along the way we are treated to more proverbs and more adventure. This is a terrific book for adults but my guess is that YA readers would love it as well. I love Maria Schneider's writing regardless of genre. This one lives up to the already high standards she has set for herself with the rest of her books. If you have yet to read every single last one of them, I envy you. I have, and now I must wait for Ms Schneider to write some more. But trust me, it's worth the wait.

About the author

Maria saw her first dragon while gardening. She asked the gnome to take pictures, but dragons are shy and very fast. One of the fairies finally snapped a shot, but just as she handed it over, the dragon came by and flamed it to ashes! Neither of us wants to get our fingers burned a second time so, sadly, there will not be pictures any time soon! Maria saw her first dragon while gardening.
