Lernen im schulischen Kontext macht nur einen Bruchteil aller Bildungsprozesse im Jugendalter aus. Der Freizeitbereich hat auf den Erwerb von Wissen und Kompetenzen einen enormen Einfluss, d.h. vor allem den informellen und nicht-formellen Bildungsorten und -prozessen kommt zentrale Bedeutung zu. Auf der Grundlage quantitativer Daten und des Bourdieuschen Habitusbegriffs zeigt diese Studie, dass Freizeit keineswegs nur ausschließlich als Kulturkapital auftritt, sondern vielmehr auch das soziale und ökonomische Kapital mitabdeckt.
