About this ebook

The National Bestseller

“Focused and persuasive... Bray’s book is many things: the first English-language transnational history of antifa, a how-to for would-be activists, and a record of advice from anti-Fascist organizers past and present.”THE NEW YORKER

As long as there has been fascism, there has been anti-fascism — also known as “antifa.” Born out of resistance to Mussolini and Hitler, the antifa movement has suddenly burst into the headlines amidst opposition to the Trump administration and the alt-right.

In a smart and gripping investigation, historian and activist Mark Bray provides a detailed survey of the full history of anti-fascism from its origins to the present day — the first transnational history of postwar anti-fascism in English. Today, critics say shutting down political adversaries is anti-democratic; antifa adherents argue that the horrors of fascism must never be allowed the slightest chance to triumph again. Bray amply demonstrates that antifa simply aims to deny fascists the opportunity to promote their oppressive politics, and to protect tolerant communities from acts of violence promulgated by fascists.

Based on interviews with anti-fascists from around the world, Antifa details the tactics of the movement and the philosophy behind it, offering insight into the growing but little-understood resistance fighting back against fascism in all its guises.

This book is full of hate. I'm on neither side, but it just shoves hate in your face. It tells me my beliefs are wrong, and encourages violence for any opinion that isn't accepted by Antifa. Its actually written well, but what the words say, are very violent. This is not a world we want to live in. I'm all for equality, but it seems Antifa are all against it unless you're not a white male. This book hates white males, and puts us all in the same boat, as racist bigots. This book is just a violent way to say "believe us or we'll hurt you" even though it doesn't say that. (I didn't buy the book, I read it borrowed it from the library.)

If you haven't read the book (clearly some of the reviewers haven't) I would recommend it for the historical basis alone. The author is very informative I'm the case of anti-fascism throughout history. For example: the French resiatance in WW2. I would recommend this book no matter your political leaning.

Whorible book portrays as anti fascist but is exactly opposite , full of fascism and communism in a persuasive way this is domestic terrorism and violence and hate and very minipulative, uses past historical instances and twists them too replicate relevance of today where racism is very rare today and is almost non existent , full of propaganda too minipulate youth. This shouldn't be aloud almost as bad as Maine kampf itself
