Childhood friends team up to disarrange their impending marriage in this charming Regency romance from the award-winning author.
It was decided from their infancy that Tris Enders would wed Juliet Branscombe. Yet, growing up on adjoining estates in Derbyshire made that the last thing that either wanted, especially after Tris had found the girl of his dreams in London and the handsome Lord Canfield moved into a nearby estate. Paula Schwartz wrote and published more than two dozen Regency romances, writing as Elizabeth Mansfield. Under various pseudonyms she also wrote an American immigrant family saga, A MORNING MOON (as by Paula Reibel), and two American history romances, TO SPITE THE DEVIL (as by Paula Jonas) and RACHEL'S PASSAGE (as by Paula Reid).
Paula Schwartz was born in the Bronx and went to Hunter College. She started teaching Drama and English as a junior high school teacher, then a high school teacher and finally a college teacher. She was married and had a son and a daughter. She wrote plays and humor pieces before starting her career as a novelist and shortly thereafter, in 1973, she began writing full-time. Paula Schwartz died in December 2003.
