Hans Heimann (1922-2006) legte als Pionier der Psychopharmakologie und experimentellen Psychopathologie auch methodische Studien zur psychiatrischen Anthropologie vor. Diese knüpfen an Karl Jaspers an und untersuchen nüchtern das Menschenbild der Freiheit im Horizont klinischer Theorie und Praxis. Seine Texte legen - auch im Kontext der Medizin im Nationalsozialismus - den Reduktionismus im psychologischen und biologischen Denken frei und begegnen ihm pragmatisch mit der mehrdimensionalen Psychiatrie. Zugleich bedingt psychiatrische Anthropologie ein Problembewusstsein, das sich begrifflich Horizonten von Religion, Philosophie oder Kunst nicht verschließt. Ein Tübinger Gedächtnis-Symposium griff Heimanns provokative Einsichten auf und erläuterte sie in aktuellen Horizonten, zuletzt auch im Blick auf den ihm wichtigen Dichter Robert Walser.
