Mauricio Tenorio Trillo ejerce de ensayista e historiador entre Chicago, Ciudad de México y Barcelona. Es "Samuel N. Harper Professor of History" y profesor asociado al CIDE (Centro de Investigación y Docencia) en México DF. Su último libro I Speak of the city: Mexico at the turn of the Twentieh Century, (Universidad de Chicago Press Book, 2015) ha ganado recientemente el Laing Prize.
