About this ebook

Have you reached a point of darkness in your life that has taken away your ability to have hope for your future? Have you seemingly been sentenced to a dark prison cell due to illness, depression, addiction, or your own sin? David, a man after God's own heart, experienced such times in his walk with God. Not only was his life one of extreme ups and downs, he was capable of communicating the realness of his experiences and feelings to God like no other figure in the Bible. Whether David was soaring on the heights of a military victory or despairing for his life, he never stopped talking to God with an unrestricted honesty and depth. This is the way that God wants us to talk with Him, real and raw. The Psalms reflect the way to commune with the loving Father. New Psalms and Other Thoughts embodies this desire.

Royalties from the sale of the book will be donated to the Edgewood Children's Ranch in Orlando, Florida.

About the author

Although Michael Burch became a Christian early in life, it wasn't until the last eight years that he became closest to God. Through some tragedies and periods of darkness in Michael’s life, he began to draw closer to Him. Michael still struggles at times with what it means to wait on God and to be still. He has seen God use the lessons of his sufferings to teach him to have a high level of sensitivity and compassion for those who are struggling and broken. Michael truly desires to be a vessel for God's service and purpose.

God gave Michael the writings in this book during a three-week period in 2009 and the pen-and-ink drawings during a two-week period in 2011. There has to be a reason why this happened, and he believes that it did because he needed to share them with others. Michael has since retired from law enforcement and currently resides with his wife and youngest daughter near Denver, Colorado.
