Michael Perch attained his MD at the University of Copenhagen (Copenhagen, Denmark), followed by specialised training in internal and pulmonary medicine. He has since contributed significantly to the Danish lung transplantation programme, currently serving as Program Director at Rigshospitalet (University of Copenhagen). He is also Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at the Department of Clinical Medicine, University of Copenhagen.
Michael is deeply engaged in several esteemed professional committees and boards, most notably serving on the Scientific Advisory Committee of PERSIMUNE (Centre of Excellence for Personalized Medicine of Infectious Complications in Immune Deficiency) and the board of MATCH (Management of post-Transplant Infections in Collaborating Hospitals). With a tenure of 12 years on the board of the National Danish Transplant Society, including 4 years as Chairman, his leadership is evident. He has also represented his country in the European Association for Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology (EABIP), is currently on the Scandiatransplant board and holds other pivotal roles: Associate Medical Director of the International Thoracic Organ Transplant Registry (part of the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation (ISHLT)); Chair of the Transplantation Group at the European Respiratory Society (ERS); and Treasurer of the European Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation (ESHLT).
Beyond his administrative commitments, Michael contributes to numerous academic clinical trials as both an investigator and a co-investigator. His expertise extends to various facets of lung transplantation, including primary graft dysfunction, chronic lung allograft dysfunction, infection and immunosuppression. He also plays a key role in the development and study of treatments within the interventional pulmonology field.
Federica Meloni is Associate Professor of Respiratory Medicine at the University of Padova (Padua, Italy) and has worked as a transplant physician for over 20 years, with responsibility for lung transplantation candidacy and post-transplant follow-up. Alongside these roles, she has been involved in clinical and translational research on chronic lung allograft dysfunction, and has explored the mechanisms of action of extracorporealphotopheresis.
Federica has served as an ERS officer for the last 11 years and is currently the Head of the ERS Assembly of Thoracic Surgery and Transplantation.
Federica has been involved in the organisation of several educational activities (courses, webinars, etc.) on lung transplantation and has put great effort into promoting knowledge in this field and stimulating the understanding and development of young physicians and assembly members.
Robin Vos is Medical Director of the Leuven Lung Transplant Program, Deputy Head of Clinic for the Department of Respiratory Diseases at University Hospitals Leuven (Leuven, Belgium) and Associate Professor of Medicine at KU Leuven (Belgium).
Robin is a Senior Clinical Research Fellow of the Research Foundation-Flanders (FWO), a Fellow of the ERS, a board member of Eurotransplant's Council of Medicine and Science, Deputy Editor of The Journal of Heart and Lung Transplantation, a member ERS' Scientific Programme Committee and a member of the Scientific Programme Committee for the European Society for Organ Transplantation (ESOT). He previously held the position of Chair of the Transplantation Group at the ERS, and was also the previous Chair of the European Cardio Thoracic Transplant Association (ECTTA) within ESOT.
Robin's clinical and translational research focuses on the pathophysiology and treatment of chronic lung allograft dysfunction, and pulmonary chronic graft-versus-host-disease. He has co-authored >250 scientific publications, including international guidelines and recommendations, and his H-index is 51. Robin's scientific work is supported by national and international research funds, awarded several times.
