About the author

Dr. Muhammad Waqas is an alumnus of the School of Economics and Management at Chang'an University, China, where he earned his PhD from September 2015 to June 2019. He completed a year of Chinese language studies and achieved Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi (HSK-4) certification. He holds both a Bachelor's and an MBA from Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan, Pakistan. With seven years of experience in teaching and research across various organizations in China, Dr. Waqas has also collaborated with the Peter B. Gustavson School of Business, University of Victoria, Canada, on a research project focused on human resource climates. Currently, he serves as a visiting faculty member at Bahauddin Zakariya University's Dera Ghazi Khan campus. His doctoral dissertation investigates the impact of reverse logistics barriers on firm performance in Pakistan's manufacturing industry. Driven by his students' achievements, Dr. Waqas is dedicated to fostering both academic success and personal growth in his students.Syed Abdul Rehman Khan is a Professor of Supply Chain and Logistics Management. Dr. Khan completed his PhD in Supply Chain Management and earned his Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) certificate from the United States. He has been a faculty member at Tsinghua University and has more than 15 years of experience in supply chain and logistics at industry and academic levels. He has published over 150 scientific research papers in well-renowned international journals and conferences. In addition, Dr. Khan has achieved scientific innovation awards three times consecutively by the Education Department of Shaanxi Provincial Government, China. Dr. Khan also holds memberships in the following well-renowned institutions and supply chain bodies/associations: APCIS-U.S.; Production and Operation Management Society, India; Council of Supply Chain Management of Professionals U.S.; Supply Chain Association of Pakistan; and Global Supply Chain Council China.Zhang Yu is an expert in retail and green supply chain, e-commerce, and reverse logistics. She has published nearly 100 articles (including ABS 3 and ABDC-ranked journals) on retail supply chain, reverse logistics, omnichannel, and sustainable supply chain management. She has research collaboration with various well-known researchers from European and Western countries. She has authored three books on sustainability in retail supply chain and business operations.
