My First Christmas

I got Pickles at a time in my life when I needed a friend. Friends come in all shapes and sizes. Pickles helped me when I was really depressed, sad, lonely, and in a lot of pain physically and mentally. I had started to lose my eyesight and was already in a wheelchair due to an accident in 1999. He started to help me in so many ways. I had a reason to get up in the mornings. I needed a lot of help finding things, remembering where things were, seeing things, and getting all the anger out that was inside me. Pickles seemed to take all that away, just like talking to your best friend. He was always there for me. He didn’t judge me and tell me I was being stupid. He just shared it all, and all he ever asked for was some food and lots of love. Pickles is an old man now, and I am writing his stories just to say, “Thank you.” Maybe there is someone in your life you want to thank.
