About the author

Professor N. K. Kaushik retired from Department of Chemistry, University of Delhi. He has more than 40 years of teaching experience. He taught Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry including Thermoanalytical methods of analysis to MSc, MPhil and PhD students. He has also served as Head of the Department from 2004-2007. He served as President Section of Chemical Sciences of 95th National Science Conference held in Vishakhapatnam in January 2008. His major research interests are microanalytical techniques in inorganic analysis, synthetic and structural chemistry, coordination behavior of organometallics with biologically active ligands, Thermoanalytical behavior of organometallic complexes and calculation of kinetic parameters under non-isothermal conditions. Professor Kaushik has supervised research work of more than 35 PhD and 21 MPhil students. He has published more than 200 research papers in national and international journals of repute. He has delivered many invited talks at various national and international conferences. He is the life member of Indian Science Congress Association, National Academy of Sciences, India; member of International Confederation of Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry (ICTAC), Indian Thermal Analysis Society, BARC, India for several years. He was a member of the committee appointed by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (GOI) for setting of Tobacco Testing Laboratories; member of National Writing Team of the NCERT for writing class XI and XII chemistry textbooks in Hindi medium.

Dr. S. K. Shukla is faculty in the Polymer Science Department, Bhaskaracharya College of Applied Sciences, University of Delhi. He has published more than 100 papers and abstracts in different international, national journals and conferences proceedings along with ten contributory chapters in books of international repute. Edited a book entitled� Advanced Carbon Materials and Technology, for John Wiley, Scrivener and special issue for Material Today Proceedings. Member of editorial boards and reviewer of many internationals journal like American Journal of Biosensors & Bioelectronic, Sensors and Actuators and members of various scientific societies. Dr. Shukla has also been awarded some of national and international awards for his scientific contributions like, Advance Materials Letter Award-2012, International Association Advance Material Scientists Award- 2011, Indian Association Solid State and Allied Chemists (Bronze Medal-2011), Best Paper award in International Conference on Advance Polymeric Materials- 2013 at Central Institute of Plastics Engineering and Technology, Lucknow, Dr. N.G. Patel Award in NPTS-16 Lucknow University, Advance Material World Congress-2013, Izmir Turkey and Best Teacher for Innovation Award by University of Delhi. His major research interests are Advanced Materials, Micro-Analytical Techniques, Nano Composite, Bioconducting Polymers and Opto-chemical Devices.
