About this ebook

Temptation. Danger. A Legacy of Secrets. It started with a single headline: Yankee Cannibal King.

When Nanine Case read the 1902 newspaper article about a distant relative, she never imagined it would launch her into a decades-long search across the globe. But what she uncovered wasn’t just a family mystery—it was a buried history of passion, survival, and a man who chose to live among warring tribes in the Marquesas Islands.

What drove John Rumell to abandon everything he knew? Was it love for a native princess—or something darker?

From missionary descendants to oral storytellers, Nanine followed every clue. What she found was a tale etched in tribal tattoos, dangerous customs, and forbidden desire. Some stories are forgotten for a reason. But Nanine was born to reveal the truth.

Experience the seductive danger of French Polynesia in this real-life adventure of obsession, survival, and the enigmatic Cannibal King.
