In ihrem zweibändigen Werk inklusive eines digitalen Online-Anhangs erarbeitet Nataliya Demir-Karbouskaya eine bauliche Aufstellung und kunsthistorische Zusammenfassung der Bauten der Rheinischen Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn. Die Bände beschreiben die bauliche Entwicklung der Universität im Stadtgefüge und stellen die Bauten seit der Gründung im Jahre 1818 bis zum 200-jährigen Jubiläum 2018 vor. Wichtige Perioden in der Universitätsgeschichte werden dabei besonders in den Blick genommen: Preußische Rheinprovinz (1815–1866), Deutsches Reich (1871–1918/9), Weimarer Republik (1918–1933), Zeit der nationalsozialistischen Herrschaft (1933–1945), Nachkriegszeit, das heißt die Zeit des Wiederaufbaus (1945–1960) und (Post-)Moderne, die Entwicklung der Universität bis in das 21. Jahrhundert (1960–2018). In her two-volume work including a digital online glossary Nataliya Demir-Karbouskaya presents an architectural catalogue and historical survey of the buildings of the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn (University of Bonn). The volumes describe the architectural development of the university in Bonn and portrays the building from its foundation in 1818 until its 200th anniversary in 2018. Important periods in the university's history are being highlighted: the Prussian Rhine Province (1815–1866), the German Empire (1871–1918/9), the Weimar Republic (1918–1933), the period of Nazism (1933–1945), the post-war period or the period of reconstruction, respectively (1945–1960) and the recent development of the university (1960–2018).
About the author
Dr. Nataliya Demir-Karbouskaya studierte Kunstgeschichte an der Universität Bonn und promovierte dort 2018 bei Frau Prof. Dr. Hiltrud Kier. Sie arbeitete im Führungsdienst der Welterbestätte Schlösser Augustusburg und Falkenlust zu Brühl und ist seit 2009 bei der Deutschen Stiftung Denkmalschutz tätig.
