Die exegetischen Arbeiten Eckart Reinmuths, von 1995 bis 2016 Professor für Neues Testament an der Universität Rostock, umfassen ein breites Themenspektrum. Dabei steht vor allem das Gespräch mit Philosophie und Kulturwissenschaften im Mittelpunkt. Eckart Reinmuth sees as one of the most important tasks of theology to participate actively in the contemporary cultural and religious disclosure of the world. Therefore, his exegetical approach concentrates in a great measure on the political dimension of biblical texts, which has led to various interdisciplinary projects. This is the frame of reference for the contributions to the present volume. They enter into a discussion with Eckart Reinmuth and continue it in the fields of hermeneutics, exegesis, cultural sciences and theology. The result is a volume which reflects the multifaceted role of theology in the social discourses at the beginning of the 21th century.
