She is currently serving as Assistant Professor in Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore. She completed her PhD in Mass Comunication from Pondicherry University. Her doctoral thesis focuses on intersection of gender with spatial and communication practices in the domestic spaces of ancestral homes in Chettinad. Her area of research includes Gender, Space; Communication; ICT and Culture Studies, Sustainability, Heritage and Indigenous knowledge systems. She has curated value-added programme “Understanding Gender” to promote gender sensitivity among students. She has published her research work in journals and presented in conferences of national and international repute. Recently, she was awarded a Faculty Research Award by VIT, Vellore, for her publication on gender inclusivity in domestic spaces.
