This short story arises from an in-depth reflection on the events that took place in this pandemic period. Realizing the transience of life exposes you to both external and internal judgments about what you did and what you wanted to do at a young age. We have lived a life thinking of aging like our grandparents without knowing how fragile life is with the hope of being able to make our dreams come true in the future.
At this age I understand the words of Dante "In the middle of the journey of our life I found myself in a dark forest because the straight path was lost." Now that we find ourselves doing the sums of life even if not on a journey of redemption as intended by Dante. Courage also derives from the unconscious resignation to the transience of life that leads us to make risky choices, which make life truly live.
