About the author

Patrick Blessinger is an adjunct professor of education at St. John's University, a STEM educator with the New York State Education Department, and founder and chief research scientist of the International Higher Education Teaching and Learning Association. Dr. Blessinger is the editor and author of many books and articles. Dr. Blessinger teaches courses in education, leadership, and research methods. Dr. Blessinger has received several educational awards such as: Fulbright Senior Scholar to Denmark (U.S. Department of State) and Governor’s Teaching Fellow for the State of Georgia, USA.

TJ Bliss is a Program Officer in the Education Program at the Hewlett Foundation. In this role, he oversees grant making to expand the reach and efficacy of Open Educational Resources (OER). Before joining the Foundation, Dr. Bliss was the Director of Assessment and Accountability at the State Department of Education in Idaho. Dr. Bliss was an OER Policy Fellow at the International Association for K-12 Online Learning (iNACOL), where he conducted research on state education policies friendly to OER.
