About this ebook

The Reality Dysfunction, the first book in Peter F. Hamilton's epic Night's Dawn trilogy, is a sweeping space opera that takes readers on a thrilling journey across the galaxy.

In the year AD 2600, humanity has achieved extraordinary feats. Genetically engineered creatures thrive in space, while sentient starships traverse the stars, amassing wealth by industrializing entire star systems. The Confederation Navy maintains peace throughout inhabited space.

But when a renegade criminal encounters an alien entity on a primitive colony planet, it triggers a catastrophic event that threatens everything humanity has become. This phenomenon, which an extinct race once called ‘the Reality Dysfunction’, is a nightmare that has haunted us since the dawn of time. . .

The Reality Dysfunction is followed by The Neutronium Alchemist and The Naked God in this epic space opera trilogy. Hamilton's intricate world-building, complex characters, and thrilling plot twists make this a must-read for fans of hard science fiction and space exploration.

I love the Mendel, Commonwealth and Salvation series. But this one was disappointing. Expected scifi but it's really a fantasy story about the undead in a futuristic setting. Too many characters as well. It gets better after the first 200 pages but doesn't end with much explained

I had a great many nights where I didn't get much sleep, it was always just 'one more bit, then I'll turn the light off.' A long, roving story with two more instalments to come, loads of characters that seem to have nothing to do with the plot really makes me want to read the next book to see how they fit into the series. Awesome.

Reading Peter F Hamiltons books can be a slog due to his discriptive writing style. This is what I like about his books. The Reality Disfuction is no different. I am just about to start the second book in the trilogy and can't wait to find out excactly what the protagonist are. Yes it takes 500 pages to get to the begining og the plot but the slog is worth it.
