About this ebook

Hazbin Hotel meets Crescent City in the otherworldly urban fantasy romance series from New York Times bestseller Piper CJ.

"How does a human girl lose the Prince of Hell?"

Marlow needs to believe she's crazy. The alternative would mean embracing the gift—or curse—shared by her mother and grandmother: she can see angels and demons, including a dark and haunting entity who's been with Marlow her entire life. At least, she believes that's all he is until a fae from the Nordic pantheon strolls into her life and informs her that she's been sharing a bed with the Prince of Hell.

A Prince who's now gone missing.

Before she knows it, Marlow is deeply entangled in a centuries-old war, stumbling straight into a battleground between mighty beings of myth and legend from powerful pantheons around the world. And who will come out on top may just depend on her and the love she never dared to believe in.

For fans of Sarah J. Maas, Laura Thalassa, Raven Kennedy, as well as lovers of:

  • Mythology & folklore
  • Kickbutt heroines
  • Fae, angels, and demons
  • "Touch her and die"

Amazing what the author has done with mythology and lore. I find myself so very invested in this love story of the ages...I just wish I wouldn't have started it before bed because it was definitely one I could not put down. Seriously if you grew up a mythology girlie instead of a horse girl...this book is written for us. Be aware this is a cliffhanger....you know so you don't stay up till 6 am trying to finish Calliban and Marlow's tale. (not that I wanted it to be over!) I plan on starting the next book in the series at a decent time!

eh, not worth the hype on social media. The writing style is slow and repetitive. I honestly skimmed a lot due to unnecessary writing. I understand the author is trying to make a point and have you feel the depth of everything... but sometimes it just would go on too long and take from the story. The main character is also very slow to understand or to accept change. Which I get, she had an abusive upbringing... but the rate of how slow she is to the change is hard to read. However, I liked the world building and I enjoyed her philosophical questions the character poses about Christianity and the Bible. I'd rate the book higher for these things + the side characters alone- had the writing not been so dragged out. I know this book got a lot of hype, but I was putting the book down and forgetting to go back to it... or only going back for the side characters. which doesn't seem like the right reasons to pick a book up.

very repetitive. constantly going back to the "this is what I've been made to believe bc of blah blah blah for blah blah blah reason". also, Marlow is a bad friend, like, who tf doesn't text their 2 (and only) friends when she knows they're worried?? even before she went to Hell. Marlow also seems like a very self-insert type character. most of the book just consisted of Marlow saying "this isn't real" when she has been proven time and time again that it is real, especially when she jumped with Fauna into Hell. i read it all the way through bc i dont like *not* finishing something, but over all, its a good concept for a book, but not the way it was executed
