Der Dialog Gorgias, entstanden nach 399 v. Chr. ist der letzte Dialog aus Platons Frühwerk. Wahrscheinlich geschrieben, kurz bevor Platon Athen das erste Mal verließ, stellt dieser Dialog eine harte Abrechnung mit den Athenern und der athenischen Demokratie dar. Der Dialog gliedert sich in drei Teile: Zunächst lässt Platon Sokrates mit dem damals berühmten Redner und Sophisten Gorgias über die Redekunst diskutieren, danach mit Polos über das Verhältnis von Unrechtleiden und Unrechttun in Bezug auf das Gute. Im Anschluss daran spricht Sokrates mit dem Politiker Kallikles über die Rolle der Tugend in der Staatsführung. (aus wikipedia.de)
