Giancarlo Narciso è tra i più noti scrittori italiani. Autore di diversi romanzi di spionaggio per Segretissimo basati sulla spia Banshee e pubblicati con lo pseudonimo di Jack Morisco, negli anni '90 inventa il personaggio di Rodolfo Capitani, avventuriero e vagabondo, che segna i suoi libri di più grande successo, portandolo a vincere il Premio Tedeschi e il Premio Scerbanenco. Con Algama ha pubblicato Le Zanzare di Zanzibar e il racconto inglese Play with fire.
