Her investigation is hampered by a missing officer - Kate's new colleagues dismiss him as a malingerer, but Kate has reason to believe something more sinister may have happened to him.

Judith Cutler lives and works in Birmingham. She used to teach at an inner-city college, but is now a part time lecturer for the University of Birmingham's Continuing Studies Department. She is also the secretary for the Crime Writers' Association.
