About the author

Prof. Pulok Kumar Mukherjee is working as the Director, Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development, under Department Biotechnology, Govt. of India, at Imphal, Manipur. He worked as the Director of the School of Natural Product Studies and Professor (On lien), Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India. He has made several innovative and outstanding contributions in academic/research on development of Bio-economy from Bioresources particularly on traditional medicine inspired drug discovery from Indian medicinal plants, Ethno pharmacology and evidence based validation of herbs used in medicine and food to make them available from 'Farm to Pharma'. Prof. Mukherjee is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC), West Bengal Academy of Sciences (FAScT), National Academy of Agricultural Sciences, India (FNAAS), and the National Academy of Sciences, India (FNASc). He has contributed over 230 publications in peer-reviewed impact journals, several patents, and books on evaluation of botanicals.
