(Rating is for the quality of writing and editing and not the poet's experiences). The poems are based on the poet's abusive childhood. She has penned down her raw feelings from the unforgettable past trauma and by doing so she wants to stand by the people who have or are experiencing abuse in any way. It is a difficult collection to read because of all the painful imagery. Child abuse is quite common in Asian households and is seen as a way of correcting children or keep them in line. It takes extreme form and hampers children's mental health. What does one do when the people who're supposed to protect them are the ones attacking them? It must be a very difficult situation to survive in. My favourite poems from this collection have to be 'Ashes of Their Dream' and 'Home'. As for the negatives, I found some editing errors in the book, like the use of past form of verb where the present form should've been used. Otherwise, the poems are extremely readable and have much emotions.

🌸 ᗷOOƘ ᖇƐᐯƖƐᗯ 🌸 Hey Happy faces, Tell me about your childhood? Did you had lot of fun growing up? Did u emotionally blackmailed your parents to get you things u desire? Did your parents loved you? Do they still love you? 🥀U would say what kind of question is this? everyone's parents love them, adore them and take care of them. Home is the place which we seek as a stressfree and relaxing place & supposed to forgot every problem we are struggling in outside world. Guess what if this place of solace becomes a hell? 🥀She Blooms by the Snow by Rachel Lay is a poetry book featuring author's life experiences with her family. Sadly growing up in her own house was not a pleasant experience for her. 🥀It seems author has a miserable life with her family and she faced a horrible childhood. Author has penned down her sorrows via her poems not just to get over it but to help sympathatic people to get better as well.

This book is a masterpiece in itself. I feel every written word on an extremely deep level, and it brings me comfort knowing that I’m not alone in this fight. SBBTS is filled with raw emotions, shaped so beautifully, that will truly touch your heart. Also, Rachel is a lovely human being with a beautiful soul. Her words will make you feel things you’ve never felt before, things you’re too familiar with, and things you thought you’ve already forgotten. And she gave all of them life in this book. I highly recommend SBBTS! 🤍
