About this ebook

What happens if God visits an atheist?

Not with lightning. Not with commandments. Just… awkward conversation.

In this irreverent, soul-poking novel, an exhausted writer who stopped believing in anything—except maybe coffee and quiet despair—gets an unexpected visitor: God.

No robe. No glowing beard. No booming voice. Just unsolicited divine company at inconvenient hours.

As the visits pile up like cosmic therapy sessions gone rogue, they spar over grief, morality, silence, and the absurd idea that the universe has a plan. The writer wants closure. God wants conversation. Neither gets what they came for—but neither walks away unchanged.

Darkly funny and quietly devastating, this isn’t a story about finding religion. It’s about what’s left when you’ve stopped looking—and God still shows up anyway.

About the author

Ricky Firman is not a theologian, nor a preacher, nor someone particularly polite when it comes to uncomfortable truths. Raised in the tug-of-war between faith and reason, he has spent much of his life questioning everything he was told not to. An outspoken freethinker and writer, Ricky prefers candor over comfort, and would rather ask a dangerous question than offer a safe answer.

His work often explores the messy intersection of belief, loss, grief, and the absurdity of it all—with a tone that drifts between dark humor and raw confession. When God Came Over is not his first book, but it may be his most personal. It was written in the quietest hours of doubt and the loudest moments of despair.

When not wrestling with existential questions, Ricky enjoys the simpler things—books, silence, and the occasional argument with the universe. He lives with his wife Sofia and their dogs, who thankfully ask for neither explanations nor theology.
