About this ebook

Fossdyke Retirement Home has seen its fair share of quirky characters, but it’s never seen the likes of these four geriatric rockers!

To outsiders, they are sweet, funny, if not a tad bit ornery. To those in the know, they are meddlesome, rebellious, and in way over their heads. When chaos erupts, they’re not far behind.

What begin as ordinary days, where others their age would spend their time chatting up a friend or family member, these four spend their days and nights making music, performing for their legion of fans, globetrotting to exciting destinations, and of course, getting mixed up in perilous situations. Between outrunning the press and persistent record companies, coming face-to-face with ISIS rebels, and the occasional death or two, it’s all they can do to keep their wits about them and escape injury.

Follow the madcap adventures of Britain’s most irreverently lovable elderly rockers as they trip, stumble, and fall into one situation after another and have a few laughs along the way in From Britain with Love, a hilarious action-packed thriller!

Getting old doesn't mean you can't have fun. It just means you know how to get away with it!

Gotta Love Those FOSSILS !! Fossdyke Retirement Home has seen its fair share of quirky characters, but it’s never seen the likes of these four geriatric rockers! The Fossils were simply four retired guys who had a love for music. But the media excitedly announced the vibrant young rock sensations whose new brand of music now grips the British nation – and that was enough to launch them out into a world which went crazy over their music. When would the public discover the truth? How would people react? And what do the Fossils think about their newfound fame and popularity? This is a cute story that only goes to show us that old rockers never die! Music is eternal! And a fun-loving attitude never gets old. Grab your copy and enjoy! I wonder if the author will give us a soundtrack to sing along with as we read?

About the author

From Britain with Love by Robert A. Webster is a brilliantly written rockumentary story about four senior citizens that meet in a retirement home. When Charles loses his wife, he and his grand piano are placed in a retirement home.

On his first day, Charles meets three new friends that talk him into joining their rock and roll band. With their stage names, Steve is "Strat" on guitar; Wayne is "Chippers," and with his false fingers he is on Bass; Elvin is "Sticks" on the drums, and then they choose the name "Knobby" for Charles to which he agrees. Then they choose the perfect name for their band of old-timers, "Fossils." The band had met with much disapproval until Charles, "Knobby," joins and they begin writing their own songs. When they decide to take a chance and play in a local pub, what started out as jokes and jeers quickly changed to applause and cheers from the crowd. Their popularity grows when DJ "Kipper" records them and submits the recording to a contest to find the next great band in the UK since the Beatles.

Mr. Webster does an amazing job of breathing life into this comedic masterpiece. Once the band gets to southeast Asia, their popularity grows as much as their lust for life. Their life of sex, drugs, rock and roll, and alcohol could easily rival that of the most iconic bands during the British invasion. The author describes in detail the lifestyle, atmosphere, and culture of Southeast Asia. The author is able to move the story back and forth from Southeast Asia to the United Kingdom where the band's popularity is growing as fast as their sales. The legend of this mysterious band grows as the band evades the freelance photographers and journalists looking to make a name for themselves. Robert A. Webster's knowledge of music and instruments is right on point, as well as the prostitutes that take advantage of our lonely senior citizens.

As the book neared its end, Fossils had me hollering "Encore!" The surprise that caught me off guard had me laughing out loud at the author's genius. Encore!
