Robert Brack, Jahrgang 1959, lebt in Hamburg. Als Virginia Doyle ist er bekannt für seine historischen Kriminalromane. Er wurde mit dem "Marlowe" der Raymond-Chandler-Gesellschaft für Das Mädchen mit der Taschenlampe und mit dem "Deutschen Krimi-Preis" für Das Gangsterbüro ausgezeichnet (beide Edition Nautilus). Zuletzt erschien in der Edition Nautilus Und das Meer gab seine Toten wieder (2008).
