Roger Scruton es doctor en Filosofía por la Universidad de Cambridge, y especialista en Estética. Ha sido profesor en Birkbeck College (Londres) y en las universidades de Boston y St. Andrews. Es fundador y editor del periódico The Salisbury Review, y fundador también del Claridge Press. Miembro del consejo editorial del British Journal of Aesthetics e investigador del Ethics and Public Policy Center, es autor de más de cuarenta libros.
