About this ebook

Zhuge Kongming reincarnates into present-day Shibuya and is working with the up-and-coming singer, Eiko Tsukimi, as her tactician! While Eiko has to record her all-new, original song, she finds herself trapped in a terrible slump! To help her get her creative juices running, Eiko goes busking on the streets and that's when she meets Nanami, a girl after her own heart. After her experiences, Eiko finally finds the true reason for her singing. But to her dismay, Nanami is actually from the rival band who are aiming to win the "100,000 likes challenge," just like her!

This is the volume where the first major arc is wrapped up (100,000 Likes) and where I was hooked to the series. Even with the challenge of representing music in a music-less format (of manga), the author focuses on the inpact it has on the characters, which in turn is where we empathize - we see their memories, their experiences, their hearts, and it makes the story so very real and human. And his ultimate answer to these human stories is one of love, the best answer one could give. Given that this is also Kongming and Eiko's stated objective, in their "plan to bring peace to the world", it makes for a heartfelt and passionate story, full of hope and love amidst the intrigue, history, comedy, and drama in the plot. I could not help but love this story, and I hope others will give it a try - including the anime adaptation which allows for the extra layer of music and sound!
