Gruff Ass in Love: A HOT & fun opposites attract romance

For heaven's sake, this book should come with a warning label! Words are not enough to convey just how much I loved this book. If you've ever enjoyed reading romantic comedy with fantastic characters and a good dose of steam, you don't want to miss this one. Cade is as alpha as a book boyfriend can be, gruff and growly enough to curl the toes of a nun with such a soft spot for those he cares about. Katelyn is feisty and adorable, the perfect sparring match for Cade, a woman who just can't help making the world around her a brighter, better place. As with the previous books I've read by this author the writing is stellar, the chemistry and tension is hotter than hot, and the multifaceted characters are instant favorites. The witty banter between all the principle characters is filled with so many laugh-out-loud moments that required putting the book down and wiping away tears. From the curmudgeonly old drama king next door to the four stages of drunkenness when Katelyn discovers moonshine, this book is a non-stop adventure that was a true joy to read. In addition to the light-hearted humor and delightful characters, there's real heart and love throughout this book. The history that both Cade and Katelyn have with the land is beautifully, if hauntingly, depicted and binds them together on an elemental level. The humor is only exceeded by the emotional depth of the story, making this one of my top favorite reads this year. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Cade and Katelyn Katelyn is your not so everyday clumsy grad student trespassing to look at rocks but a young woman with a heart of gold. Cade is a man that walked away from his past with only a few regrets. These two will make you laugh and sweat, swear and maybe hyperventilate at the heat between them. If you like your man caring, bossy/protective and lives up to his promises then Cade is the guy for you. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Such a sweet story. I loved every minute of it. I especially loved how close everyone is. I adored Katelyn. She is fun, caring and has the biggest heart. I adored her relationship with the old man who was next door neighbors with Cade. Cade is pretty awesome too. He cares about all of the men that work for him and their families. He’s also super patient with Katelyn. Their story had my heart melting while making laugh out loud too. Definitely a book I’d read again.
