About this ebook

To a gardener, it may seem obvious that daffodils suggest spring, roses peak in summer, apples mean autumn, and bare trees represent winter. This may be obvious to you but perhaps not to your viewer. And it may be so obvious to you that you overlook the seasonal potential for garden photography.

Weather, Moods and Seasons is the third lesson in the THINK LIKE A GARDENER series: a collection of exercises designed to extend the photographer's perception of garden design to finding themes and telling stories.  The THINK LIKE A GARDENER series is part three of the 4-part PhotoBotanic Garden Photography Workshop. There are six easy to follow lessons in each series.

About the author

A life-long gardener, Saxon Holt spent his professional time as a commercial photographer until 1985 when he discovered the gardening market and could no longer stay indoors. He quickly developed a reputation as a photographer with a distinct vision and understanding of plants and landscapes.

His work has been featured in diverse publications from Architectural Digest and Pacific Horticulture Magazine, to Smithsonian and Money Magazine, and with 20+ books his work is known throughout the gardening world.

Saxon is a popular workshop instructor using the lessons in this series taken from the PhotoBotanic Garden Photography Workshop, which is also found online at PhotoBotanic.com.
