About this ebook

Rascalville tells the story of a group of kids (Jake, Chase, Jackson, Pierre, Vicky and Charlie), who become part of an event that draws their friendship closer than it was the day before. None of the friends have experienced what has occurred in Williamsburg Brooklyn until that eerie Friday in the summer. It was a beautiful sunny day in the neighborhood. Many people were outside, taking advantage of the warm day, and enjoying the weather as most do when the temperatures rise in New York City. The crew was hanging out in their tree house as usual making plans for their afternoon, when their plans were interrupted by one of their friends calling for help. It sounded urgent, and there was no time to waste. Their friend needed their help, and he needed it right away.

Love it! What a great story of resilience through friendship. These are the lessons we should be teaching the youth. Fun pictures and great dialogue really bring the friendships to life. Looking forward to some more exciting Brooklyn adventures from the Rascalville bunch.

About the author

Shalah Collins was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. She grew up in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn, which she considers one of the coolest neighborhoods in New York City. For her, Williamsburg holds the blueprint of many childhood memories, and contributes to her depiction of Urban living in New York City. Shalah comes from a large family, where laughter, comedy, and big adventures, were a staple in her home. It is through these lenses, and rich neighborhood history where her stories begin. Her love of children and great sense of humor has been the driving force, and inspiration for writing children's books. She pays tribute in her initial installment "Rascalville" to her late mother Margaret, whose dream was to write children's books when she retired.
