About the author

Siddhartha Bhattacharyya [FRSA (UK), FIET (UK), FIEI (I), FIETE, LFOSI, FSCRS, SMIEEE, SMACM, SMAAIA, SMIETI] earned his Bachelor in Physics, Bachelor in Optics and Optoelectronics, and Master in Optics and Optoelectronics from the University of Calcutta, India, in 1995, 1998, and 2000, respectively. He completed his PhD in Computer Science and Engineering from Jadavpur University, India, in 2008. He also received the PhD (Habilitation) degree from VSB Technical University of Ostrava, Czech Republic, in 2023. He is the recipient of the University Gold Medal from the University of Calcutta for his Masters. He is the recipient of several coveted awards, including the Distinguished HoD Award and Distinguished Professor Award conferred by the Computer Society of India, Mumbai Chapter, India, in 2017, the Honorary Doctorate Award (D. Litt.) from The University of South America, and the South East Asian Regional Computing Confederation (SEARCC) International Digital Award ICT Educator of the Year in 2017. He has been appointed as the ACM Distinguished Speaker for 2018-2020. He was inducted into the People of ACM Hall of Fame by ACM, the USA, in 2020. He has been appointed as the IEEE Computer Society Distinguished Visitor for 2021-2024. He has been elected as a full foreign member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences (RANS) and the Russian Academy of Engineering (REA). He has been elected a full fellow of The Royal Society for Arts, Manufacturers and Commerce (RSA), London, UK. He is currently serving as a Senior Researcher in the faculty of electrical engineering and computer science at VSB Technical University of Ostrava, Czech Republic. He is also serving as the Scientific Advisor of Algebra Bernays University, Zagreb, Croatia. Before this, he served as the Principal of Rajnagar Mahavidyalaya, Rajnagar, Birbhum. He served as a Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of Christ University, Bangalore. He was the Principal of RCC Institute of Information Technology, Kolkata, India, from 2017-2019. He has also served as a Senior Research Scientist in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science of VSB Technical University of Ostrava, Czech Republic, from 2018 to 2019. Before this, he was a Professor of Information Technology at the RCC Institute of Information Technology, Kolkata, India. He served as the Head of the Department from March 2014 to December 2016. Before this, he was an Associate Professor of Information Technology at RCC Institute of Information Technology, Kolkata, India, from 2011-2014. Before that, he served as an Assistant Professor in Computer Science and Information Technology at the University Institute of Technology, The University of Burdwan, India, from 2005-2011. He was a Lecturer in Information Technology at Kalyani Government Engineering College, India, from 2001 to 2005. He is a co-author of 6 books and the co-editor of 115 books and has more than 400 research publications in international journals and conference proceedings to his credit. He has two PCTs and 20 patents to his credit. He has been a member of several national and international conferences' organizing and technical program committees. He is the founding President of the Asia-Pacific Artificial Intelligence Association (AAIA), Kolkata, and the immediate past Chairman of the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society (IEEE CIS), Kolkata Chapter.

Jyoti Sekhar Banerjee is currently serving as the Associate Professor & Head of the Department in the Computer Science and Engineering (AI and ML) Department at the Bengal Institute of Technology, Kolkata, India. He is also the Professor-in-Charge, R & D and Consultancy Cell & Nodal Officer of the IPR Cell of BIT. Since 2024, he also works as a Remote Researcher in the Internet of THings & AppliCAtions Lab (ITHACA) at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Western Macedonia, Greece. He is the former remote research fellow of the Cognitive Computing and Brain Informatics Research Group (CCBI) at Nottingham Trent University (NTU), UK. Dr. Banerjee completed his post-doctoral fellowship at Nottingham Trent University, UK, in the Department of Computer Science. He also completed a post graduate diploma in IPR & TBM from MAKAUT, WB. He has teaching and research experience spanning 20 years and completed one IEI funded project. He is a member of the CSI, IEEE, ISTE, IEI, ISOC, IAENG and fellow of IETE. He is present Secretary-cum-Treasurer of the ISTE WB Section and Secretary of the IETE, Kolkata Centre. He is the immediate past Secretary of the Computer Society of India, Kolkata Chapter. Dr. Banerjee is also serving as the Vice Chairman Cum Chairman Elect in the Computer Society of India, Kolkata Chapter for the year 2025-2027.

Mario Köppen studied Physics at the Humboldt University of Berlin and received his Master’s degree in Solid-State Physics in 1991. He has published over 150 peer-reviewed papers in conference proceedings, journals, and books and was active in the organization of various conferences as a chair or member of the program committee, including the WSC online conference series on soft computing in industrial applications, and the HIS conference series on hybrid intelligent systems. He is the founding member of the World Federation of Soft Computing and since 2016 editor-in-chief of its Elsevier Applied Soft Computing Journal.

Somen Nayak (Member, IEEE) received the B.C.A. degree from the University of Burdwan, the M.C.A. degree from Punjab Technical University (formerly I. K. Gujral Punjab Technical University), Jalandhar, and the M.Tech. degree in computer science and engineering from Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University (formerly West Bengal University of Technology). He is pursuing a Ph.D. from the National Institute of Technology, Arunachal Pradesh. He had served as an assistant professor in the department of computer applications at Chandigarh University, Mohali, India. Currently, he is working as an assistant professor in the department of computer science and engineering, Faculty of Science and Technology (IcfaiTech), The ICFAI University. Jaipur. His research interests include machine learning, swarm intelligence, medical image processing, and the Internet of Things (IoT). He is an active member of the IEEE Computer Intelligence Society. He is acting as a convener of two international conferences, such as the Global Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Applications (GCAIA) and the International Conference on Human-Centric Smart Computing (ICHCSC). He serves as a reviewer for many IEEE and Springer conferences.

Jan Platos is a professor at the Department of Computer Science and the Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, VSB-TUO, Czech Republic. He has co-authored more than 240 scientific articles published in proceedings and journals. His primary fields of interest are machine learning, artificial intelligence, industrial data processing, text processing, data compression, bioinspired algorithms, information retrieval, data mining, data structures, and data prediction.
