"Rabbi Simeon Schreiber is the founder, director, and lead chaplain of Visiting Chaplain Services, Inc., a not-for-profit agency providing comfort and support to anyone in spiritual or emotional distress. He currently serves as Senior Staff Chaplain at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, Florida, and is the first (ever) chaplain of the Bal Harbour Police Department. He has lectured extensively "Guidelines for Bikur Cholim Visitation," as well as on the protocols for visiting those who are sitting Shiva. He is the author of a well-received pamphlet, The Shiva Call - A Guide to Comfort the Visitor and the Mourner."

This extremely well written Book is a MUST read for anyone interested in visiting the ill ....the home bound elderly or the bereaved. . Written in an easy to understand, friendly and flowing manner, it removes the "discomfort' that visitors often experience when visiting those in distress. A MAIN feature of the book is the "made up" scenario of a hospital visit. The reader is asked to critique the actions of the visitor which so often mimic those of an actual visitor. Rabbi Schreiber then "dissects ' the visit piece by piece and develops 21 guidelines for proper visitation. Back round and resource materials are also an integral part of this educational Book. Should be part of any care givers collection
