**I voluntarily read an early copy of this title courtesy of NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review** I always enjoy visiting the Texas ranch that Soraya Lane has created for us. The Ford siblings have been interesting and entertaining, but probably the most elusive and the one I was most interested in hearing her story is Angelina. Angelina has been in California living and following her dreams. She's always the sibling that comes home just long enough and then heads back to bury herself in her work again. She never spends extended periods at home and while she wants to be independent, it's very much at the cost of her relationships. When her world in California begins to crumble around her, she heads home to the ranch, but has no intention of telling anyone why she's really there. She tells them she's there to visit for Father's Day. Logan Brody has recently returned from war and he's not the same man that left. The things he saw and experienced have changed him and he's struggling now that he's back home. He now looks out for his best friend Brett's widow and daughter, but outside of his dog Ella, he's really not living life. Angelina and Logan used to be best friends, but they've lost touch over the years. When they reconnect in the grocery store of all places, they realize that they need one another's friendship now more than ever. They are both struggling with different things and when they turn to one another for comfort, will it ignite feelings that they both have felt over the years, but never spoke of or will it end what has been a wonderful friendship? I really enjoyed this story and these two characters. They both had baggage and things to work through, but those struggles were the reason that they eventually came together. I've enjoyed all of these books and if you haven't had a chance to read this series, I'd recommend it.

This is a friends to lovers whose friendship goes way back. These two fractured souls, Angelina and Logan, learn to get back on their feet and take their lives back while their friendship morphs into something so much more in the process. This is thirty year old, California business woman Angelina Ford, and Texas rancher Logan Brody’s story line. MY ONE TRUE COWBOY can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary. Told from dual third person perspectives (Angelina and Logan) MY ONE TRUE COWBOY follows the friends to lovers relationship between thirty year old, California business woman Angelina Ford, and Texas rancher Logan Brody. Years earlier Angelina Ford left Texas to start her own business in Los Angeles, California but her father’s worsening condition found Angela back in Texas with a secret that was slowly breaking her heart. Coming face to face with her childhood friend Logan Brody, meant feelings and emotions of a time long ago, but Logan struggled with demons from his past, demons that are about to resurface within days. What ensues is the building but struggling relationship and romance between Logan and Angelina, and the fall-out as neither Logan nor Angelina is willing to commit to something more. Logan is a retired member of the US military, and battles PTSD and the guilt of surviving an attack against his team and the loss of his best friend Brett. Believing himself to be broken and unworthy of his own happily ever after, Logan continues to sabotage his relationship and friendship with Angelina Ford, a woman who struggles with her own guilt of failure and loss. The relationship between Logan and Angelina is a friends to lovers romance that is doomed to fail on so many levels. Logan fights his attraction and need for our story line heroine, and Angelina is quick to run at the first sign of trouble. The $ex scenes are passionate and seductive without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text. We are reintroduced to all of the previous story line couples, as well as the introduction of Bretts widow Kelly and their daughter Lucy. MY ONE TRUE COWBOY is a story of family, friendships, forgiveness and love. The premise is heart breaking; the romance is captivating; the characters are energetic and colorful but frustrating. The up and down, back and forth, yes and no between Logan and Angelina was disheartening and often discouraging, and affected my overall enjoyment of the story. In the end I didn’t care whether or not the couple remained together or went their separate ways.
