About the author

Stan Friedland was a teacher, guidance counselor, teacher-union president, high school principal and college professor during his long career in education. He has a doctoral degree from Columbia University, and has written some 30 articles and sets of materials pertinent to education. His first book, “An Orphan Has Many Parents”, published in 1998, was co-authored with Phil Craft, and details their growing up in a Brooklyn orphanage. Stan has had radio and television shows on education and currently presents workshops and seminars throughout the country. He lives with his wife in Syosset, N.Y. and has four children. * * * * * * * Dr. Robert Schoenfeld, Sam’s eldest son, is the founder and president of a successful group medical practice located in Plainview, New York. He is married and has three children and three grandchildren. Dr. Schoenfeld also is an accomplished photographer and has had two major exhibits of his work at the prestigious National Arts Club in New York City.
