Viele berühmte Juristen lehrten an der Berliner Universität: in der Anfangszeit Friedrich Carl von Savigny, später u. a. Levin Goldtschmidt, Otto von Gierke, Josef Kohler, Rudolf Smend, Martin Wolff, Ernst Rabel, Friedrich von Liszt. Die Festschrift Geschichte und Gegenwart erscheint aus Anlass des 200-jährigen Bestehens der Juristischen Fakultät.
