Anytime an author published a box set of a series I recommend reading it in the set. I read these stories individually, and I loved them. Here are my reviews of each of the books. Daddy's Arms I love a romance story that focuses on a couple who have been together for a long time and have that deep love but who may be hitting a rough patch in their relationship, and that's what this one is. It also has a very well written mystery. It's not a fluffy, light read, but it's not dark either. It's a story with substance and it was easy to slip into the story and become fully invested. I like the complexity of the plot and the characters, both. I also really liked the side characters and I'm hoping to see their stories in the future. Daddy's Laws I have been waiting for this one since reading Daddy's Arms, and I wasn't disappointed. Shannon and Bryant are fabulous together, and I absolutely loved Shannon's bratty behavior. It add a lot of humor even when you knew the outcome wasn't going to be pleasant. They both have issues, and Bryant has some mistakes to make up for, but seeing them reach that HEA made all the emotional upheavals well worth it. Daddy's Mercy This one hit hard in the emotions department. MaryAnn has suffered some serious trauma and her continued PTSD was at times hard to read. If you have dealt with something similar to this in the past, here's your trigger warning. The descriptions are so well written that I found myself needing to step away a few times. I always came back, and the ending is why I continue to read books that trigger me or push me past what I'm comfortable in the moment - I read stories like this to help process my own trauma. The story isn't just about MaryAnn and her trauma because Dean also has trauma he's trying to work through. He may not be as broken as MaryAnn, but he does have walls in place to protect himself. It made him a very sympathetic character, and made me love him even more. There is a lot of sexiness and passion in this one, but the sweet and tender moments were some of my favorite. I loved the way MaryAnn broke down Dean's walls and the way Dean gave MaryAnn a safe place to finally be herself. It's all about coming through terrible things and finding the rainbow at the end of that darkness.
