About this ebook

A chilling tale of deception and betrayal, as Detective Shane Scully confronts a deadly conspiracy that strikes at the heart of the LAPD.

Driving along the freeway, Shane Scully glances over and sees Jody Dean, his oldest friend and LAPD colleague, at the wheel of an adjacent car. The shock is overwhelming, as Jody supposedly died two years ago, having committed suicide in the Rampart Division parking lot. Shane even served as a pallbearer at his funeral.

As Scully delves deeper, he uncovers a sinister plot involving Jody and five other cops who, despite being officially declared dead, are very much alive. Operating under the moniker "the Vikings," this rogue unit exploits their knowledge of the system to penetrate a vicious criminal network. To infiltrate the Vikings, Scully must confront a heart-wrenching decision: shoot his fiancée, Alexa, as part of his cover. When the setup goes awry, Shane finds himself standing over Alexa's body, his world shattered.

Driven to the edge of sanity, Shane embarks on a desperate undercover mission that spans from the decadence of Colombian palaces to the deadly streets of Aruba. In Viking Funeral, an electrifying thriller from Emmy award-winning writer Stephen J. Cannell, Sergeant Scully faces his greatest challenge yet, with his life in the hands of the most dangerous killer he's ever known – his closest childhood friend.
