About this ebook

Bled dry by interminable warfare, infighting and bloody confrontations with Lord Anomander Rake and his Tiste Andii, the vast, sprawling Malazan empire simmers with discontent.

Even its imperial legions yearn for some respite.

For Sergeant Whiskeyjack and his Bridgeburners, and for Tattersail - sole surviving sorceress of the Second Legion - the aftermath of the siege of Pale should have been a time to mourn the dead. But Darujhistan, the last of the Free Cities of Genabackis, still holds out against the empire - and Empress Lasseen's ambition knows no bounds.

However, it seems the empire is not alone in this great game. Sinister forces gather as the gods themselves prepare to play their hand . . .

Conceived and written on an epic scale, Gardens of the Moon is a breathtaking achievement - a novel in which grand design, a dark and complex mythology, wild and wayward magic and a host of enduring characters combine with thrilling, powerful storytelling to resounding effect.

This is the first book and as the author promised, the saga will take 20 books to complete! I am reading fifth book now. This one is a great introduction. Lots of characters, yes, but it's not at all hard to remember characters and care about what is going to happen to them. Highly recommend for those who loves T. Williams and B. Sanderson. Awesome story and it's going on forever:-) S. Ericsson fulfilled his promise to write 20 books, not like some super famous writer(s) who left us with an unfinished story.

Epitome of the term Epic, both in literal and vernacular use of the word. Definitely shares the throne with Tolkien (me being politically correct), but I honestly think he has bumped Tolkien off the number 1 spot. Don't believe me...read Erickson and get back to me).

The author was right that people might get put off by the amount of characters. I started making a list so the I didn't get lost. I got halfway through the list, and then gave up. This is one book that I haven't even started. What a waste of money. I think the author has indulged himself in forming this book. He has written it for himself. Well, good luck with that.
