Perspectives in Supramolecular Chemistry relates recentdevelopments and new exciting approaches in supramolecularchemistry. The series covers all areas from theoretical andmodelling aspects through organic and inorganic chemistry andbiochemistry to materials, solid-state and polymer sciencesreflecting the many and varied applications of supramolecularstructures in modern chemistry.
From the early days of supramolecular chemistry the field has beenassociated with possible applications. This is not surprising asthe design of new molecules, and later of assemblies of molecules,is often function-driven. Now, after three decades ofsupramolecular chemistry, David Reinhoudt has brought together acollection of reviews to reflect on the applications that haveactually been achieved. The first applications in molecularrecognition are now established technologies in analyticalchemistry, separation science and medicine.
