Especially in pekalongan city, batik industry embodies the islamic religion that is majority believed. The presence of various economic infrastructures such as batik markets, batik villages and batik galleries throughout the city, confirms that the business life of the city is based on the arts, crafts and culture of batik. Batik in addition to being a culture as well as providing entrepreneurial opportunities for the people of Pekalongan. The character of Muslim entrepreneurs such as innovative, leader-spirited, always careful in making decisions plays an important role in the sustainability of batik business. Dr. Susminingsih, M.Ag. earned a Bachelor’s degree from IAIN Walisongo Semarang, a Magister of Islamic Economics from IAIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, and Doctor (economics) from UII Yogyakarta. She is formerly Deputy Director of IAIN Pekalongan Post Graduate and the lecture of human resource management, Islamic Economics Ethic, Zakat-Wakaf Management, and Academic Writing. She presented many articles in national and international forum since 2012. She conducted many researches on Islamic Economics and batik small and medium enterprises, individual and international collaborative research.
Amir Mahmud, S.E.Sy., M.H. born in Pemalang, August 9, 1986 and domiciled in Perum Griya Tirto Indah No. 11, Gg 8, Pekalongan. The author is an alumnus of the State Islamic College (STAIN Pekalongan), at the Department of Sharia Economics, and completed a thesis entitled DPS Performance in the Application of Sharia Compliance (Case Study at BPRS PNM Binama Semarang). Furthermore, the second author continued his studies in the Master Program at Sultan Agung University (UNISULA), Sharia Economic Law, and successfully completed the thesis entitled Implementation of Akad Mudharabah at Bank Muamalat Indonesia Pekalongan Branch.
Nurul Syahru Karima, SE.Sy. The third author is a student of IAIN Pekalongan majoring in Sharia Economics. The author was born in Kertijayan, February 20, 1995 and domiciled in Kertijayan Gg. 9B, Rt. 23 Rw. 08. The author is a descendant of batik entrepreneurs so very familiar with the management of batik business. Family experience in managing batik business inspires writers in several researches and thesis on batik. The author completed his study in the first degree with a thesis entitled Business Relations of Chinese Traders with Muslim Javanese Traders (Case Study of Pekalongan Batik Traders).
