About this ebook

Jamie Kennedy thought finding his partner's body was hell! Being haunted by a ghost with unfinished business? Worse.

Donovan had been his partner for all eight years of his detective career. Their families knew each other, their kids went to school together. They were as close as brothers. It felt like someone punched him in the chest. Mud splattered the sweatshirt and jeans of the figure lying in the mud, but he recognized the college logo and the splash of green paint he'd put on the faded blue cloth just the week before. “Yes, that is Michael Donovan.”

Identifying the body was hard.

Telling his wife was harder.

Getting drunk that night to numb the pain was easy.

Then he woke up to Donovan sitting on his coffee table.

“Wake the f— up, Jamie! We caught a case and you're already late.”

One eyeball peeled open to see his partner, Michael Donovan, seated on his coffee table. They headed in to work, with their usual stop at Dunkies for coffee and donuts.

It wasn’t until he’d driven away from Dunkies, coffee in hand and Mike in the passenger seat that he remembered. “You’re dead.”

“I know I’m dead. We need to solve my murder,” Mike said.

“But you’re dead.”

His partner might be gone, but he’s not resting in peace. And he’s got a job for Kennedy: find his killer.

But working a case with a ghost comes with complications. How does Kennedy explain the tips? How does he keep his badge when his colleagues think he’s talking to thin air?

The deeper he digs, the messier it gets. Someone wanted Donovan dead.

If Kennedy’s not careful, he’ll be next.

Wow. Now, I'm usually pretty judgmental about new books, but of course I love this author's writing so I had to dive in. About halfway through, I had my suspicions about the reasons for things happening the way they did. I never had any concrete reasons, but I was absolutely blown away by the end. There was a little twist that had me laughing out loud, as well. Not only was the book well-written, with all the plot twists tied together nicely and no gaps left behind, but the author set up the next book in the series perfectly, leaving me almost literally salivating for more. I could not stop reading. Sometimes, I was laughing as I read, other times, I was on the edge of my seat wanting to skip ahead to see what was going to happen. This is a great mix of supernatural meets detective story meets unfinished business.

This was a totally amazing book. I could not put it down. I hung on every word. It was way more than I expected.

About the author

T.K. Eldridge retired from a career in Intelligence for the US Gov't to write. The experiences from then are now being used to feed the muse for paranormal romance, thrillers, supernatural, and urban fantasy stories. When they’re not writing, they are enjoying life in the Blue Ridge mountains of western North Carolina. Two dogs, two cats, a garden, a craft hobby and a love of Celtic Traditional music keep them from spending too much time at the computer.
