About the author

Terry Cralle, RN, MS, is cofounder of a four-bed sleep disorders center in Virginia, and a nationally recognized sleep health consultant, educator, and advocate. Her work in the field of sleep medicine has ranged from patient care to clinical research and continuing education for nurses. As a certified clinical sleep educator, she is a highly sought-after consultant and speaker for schools, corporations, hospitals, and community organizations, as well as for the hospitality, travel, and bedding industry. Terry works closely with the International Sleep Products Association, Start School Later, and the Pajama Program. She is the national spokesperson for the Better Sleep Council.

 
William David Brown, PhD, DABSM, CBSM (diplomate of the American Board of Sleep Medicine, certified in Behavioral Sleep Medicine) has treated hundreds of patients for a full range of sleep disorders while serving as the clinical director of several hospital-based and free-standing sleep centers. A sleep psychologist at Children’s Medical Center in Dallas, he is the primary clinician diagnosing and treating pediatric insomnia using behavioral techniques. Dr. Brown is also assistant professor of psychiatry at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, where he obtained his training in sleep medicine. He has written numerous articles on the subject for academic journals, as well as coauthored and contributed chapters to books on sleep medicine.
