Vandana Vikashni Nath is an academic and PhD. scholar majoring in English Literature, with a specific focus on Pacific Literature from a feminist lens.Vandana has also taught foundation and undergraduate courses in English Literature and Language at the University of Fiji and is now residing and teaching in Australia. She has written several poems, book chapters on education, literature, and indenturship. She has also edited several poetry collections at Blue Crystal Literary Magazine and is one of the Eminent Editors. She feels that we can express alot through poetry and hence devotes time in providing opportunities for young poets to express their concerns and emotions in her social media platform, Poetry Hub Fiji.
Pravinesh is a high school Industrial Arts, Wood Work and Technology Teacher by profession. He has extensive experience in teaching secondary school students in Fiji. In addition, Pravinesh loves soccer and have acquired relevant training in coaching secondary school and district level soccer. He is no poet, but got inspired by his wife, who has a strong literature background. He wrote this poem, after visiting other places, outside Fiji and realized that there is no place like Fiji.
Adarsh Kumar was born and raised in the vibrant, island nation of Fiji. Currently he is a medical student. His passion for writing has always been a constant companion. Poetry, in particular, allows him to express emotions and thoughts in a unique and powerful way.
Beyond his academic pursuits, he finds solace in the unconditional love of his canine companions. Their unwavering loyalty and playful spirit bring joy to his life.
Manoa Saladromu hails from the beautiful island of Vanualevu in the province of Cakaudrove , district of Saqani, and the village of Biaugunu. Currently, Manoa is a third-year student at the University of Fiji completing his Bachelor of Arts and Graduate Diploma in Teaching.
Tarfeeha Nuzhat is a third-year university student at the University of Fiji enrolled in the programme Bachelor of Arts majoring in English Language and Literature and Human Resource Management. In the near future, Tarfeeha aims to pursue her career in the writing field which aligns with her passion. The poem “Bula, Namaste Assalamualaikum” translates into Fiji’s people and what makes Fiji known for its diverse culture and acceptance, it talks about the unique features that Fiji has bringing peace and harmony
